Graduate course offerings in the Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (MAE) are divided into five broad areas as follows: Aerodynamics and Fluid Mechanics, Design and Manufacturing, Heat Transfer and Thermodynamics, Solid Mechanics and Dynamics, and System Dynamics and Control. A list of current course offerings is bellow. Students must also satisfy a mathematics requirement. Courses that may be used to satisfy this requirement are listed on page 3.
Normally, a maximum of one 400 level class from Mathematics will count toward the course requirements of either the M.S., M.S.E. or the Ph.D. degrees. Normally, a maximum of one 400 level class from the School of Engineering or from the Physical Sciences will count toward the course requirements of either the M.S., M.S.E. or the Ph.D. degrees. Classes required for either the Mechanical Engineering or the Aerospace Engineering B.S. degree are excluded.
