It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Arizona State University. Whether a current, prospective or former student, or simply a visitor to our department, there is something here to inspire your interest.

Mechanical and aerospace engineering are exciting disciplines; our faculty and students generate new knowledge as they create innovative solutions to society’s most pressing problems in energy, human health, and transportation on Earth and in outer space, among others.

We have world-class faculty engaged in a diverse range of research programs that they incorporate into a unique educational experience for our undergraduates. Our fully-accredited programs optimally position students for their roles as professional engineers or advanced studies past the B.S.E. degree. At the graduate level, we provide rigorous, cross-disciplinary training and a rich research environment. Our students are immersed in cutting-edge research with broad interactions among the disciplines in the department and beyond. The department is an ideal environment for students who have proven themselves as the best and the brightest - those who are prepared and eager for the challenge we offer.
